Vienna Groove Unit – ‚RAW‘
„Austria-based band Vienna Groove Unit has released the magnificent album ‘RAW’, in December 2021. It is a funk-soul release that needs to be heard this Spring!
‘Vaccine’ opens the release to an addictive beat and melodic, funky bass. As the staccato guitar enters the track is in full flow. We adore the groove, which soon establishes itself; it is compelling and effortlessly draws the listener in.
‘Boogaloo’ For You’ is an infectious song that will have you reaching for the repeat button. The organ and guitar play off one another, creating texture and complimenting each other perfectly.
We found ‘The Travel’ to have a wonderful laid back groove for the funky melodies to spring from. Finally, ‘The Reverent’ closes the release and leaves the audience wanting more!

Vienna Groove Unit are comprised of band members Thomas Hechenberger, Valentin Oman, Rue Kostron, and Christian Ziegelwanger. It is clear that they are all excellent musicians in their respective fields, but magic happens when they play together.
